Thank you stopping by to read our little blog. To get started, we will quickly catch you up on our project and a little bit about our journey to renovate and create a unique modern house in one of our favorite places, Montauk, NY.

Almost 2.5 years ago, we started thinking about buying an apartment in Manhattan. The process was frustrating, the prices high and the timing to close on a place in the city just didn't seem quite right. Sometime later, the conversation shifted from Manhattan to Montauk and our search began.

I fell in love with Montauk after my first visit. Dan had been coming here for years, but I had never been. To put it into few words, it just felt right, it felt like somewhere we could feel at home. We searched for the perfect house for almost 2 years, before finally finding "our place" in March of 2014. We were never searching for a renovation project, but since we both have tons of interest in architecture, design, decorating and art, we were delighted when the opportunity to renovate came along.

In the span of a few months after that, Dan and I got engaged, bought the Montauk house, got married, took a mini-honeymoon and started renovations.
